The Body Shop Seaweed Mattifying Day Cream Review

I do love Body Shop, they have so many nice products and the company has great values too. The other day I went in for a browse and was in need of a new day cream. I have always struggled with oily skin along my t-zone, and I have to powder my face countless times throughout the day to keep my skin looking matte! I can't even touch a product labelled "dewy" or my skin will be so shiny it's basically reflective! But I also have the issue that if I wear too light of a moisturiser, my skin feels tight and uncomfortable!

But have I found a miracle product?

The claim:

"This oil-free, gel-like moisture cream is easily absorbed and perfect for combination skin.
  • Moisturises dry areas
  • Balances excess sebum
  • Gives a matte, shine-free complexion"
I normally shy away from gel moisturisers, but I actually love the texture of this face cream. It does exactly what it says on the tin. It moisturises my skin but also leaves it looking matte all day. I only have to reapply powder once! My skin doesn't feel tight when I've applied it either and it absorbs really quickly, meaning that I don't have to wait too long before applying makeup. I quite like the seaweed smell too!

This product is very affordable too, it's only £11 and I managed to get 40% off as Body Shop always have great offers on!

Honestly I can't reccommend this product enough. In my eyes it's so much better than Clinique's Dramatically Different Moisturiser (and a fraction of the price too!). I think I finally have my skin routine down to a T. I use The Body Shop's Vitamin E Serum (review here) and Vitamin E Moisturiser at night (mentioned in a post here) which I believe nourishes my skin so much at night that I'm okay to use a light cream in the day.

You can find the Seaweed Mattifying Day Cream here!

Do any of you struggle with oily skin? If so how do you combat it? I'd love to know!

Autumn Walk

I love nothing more than a good long walk to clear my head and to give my legs a good stretch. Autumn is a great time for walks because it's not too hot and not too cold so you can get a good speed! Me and my friend Melissa went for a good walk the other day so I thought I'd take some snaps because the colours at this time of the year are just amazing!

Melissa made a new friend!

I'm lucky in that I live in an area where there are a few good walks just around the corner and I don't even need to drive. Walking is a great way to unwind and me and my friends always like to use walking as a way to catch up and have a good natter (especially if we're short on cash!) and it's also a good way to get in some exercise too.

Do you guys enjoy walking? :)

21 Thoughts Every 21 Year Old Has

Here's my attempt at a light-hearted, funny Friday post for you all. I'm 21 and these are thoughts that actually go through my head. Enjoy!

1. I'll never look forward to a birthday ever again.

2. I need a career.

3. What do I wanna be? A Policewoman? Dancer? Lawyer? Journalist? I couldn't decide when I was 5 and I still can't decide now.

4. I best start saving for a house, oh and for retirement cause that's looming over me too now.

5. Should probably pay off my overdraft soon.

6. But I still haven't travelled! That's more money.

7. Is that a wrinkle?!

8. I need to buy anti-ageing creams. They're so expensive!!

9. What have I actually done with my life?!

10. That person on Facebook has done like ten times the amount that I've done with my life so far.

11. I love being single!! I can do what I want, when I want!!

12. I don't have a boyfriend, all the good ones are taken, I'm gonna die alone.

13. I best go and buy a cat, or three.

14. Maybe I should join Match.com?

15. Tinder will do.

16. My Facebook feed is full of baby scans.

17. I actually need to eat healthy and workout now in order to stay slim. When did that happen?

18. But chocolate is soo good!

19. I haven't done enough for charity. I'm going to train for a marathon.

20. Nope, I can't run more than a mile.

21. I met a cute guy today, then I found out he was 18. I'm old.

Halloween Looks: Hungry Vampire

Hello Lovelies! The other day I posted a "Glamorous Vampire" makeup look, and this look I created straight after that one, so to get the details of what I used for the base, read the first post! This is a hungry vampire look, and is roughly based on Elena from the Vampire Diaries (my favourite TV programme!). Read on to see how I achieved the look!

Step 1: To get to this stage I removed most of my eye makeup and just left my lashes on. I also partially removed my lipstick, leaving this cracked lip effect behind!

Sorry I didn't realise the camera was out of focus!!

Step 2: I then went in all over my lid with Blackout from Naked 2 using a flat shader brush. I built this up very intense and blended it well using a dome brush. I also applied some Blackout under my lash line.

Step 3: I then applied Mac's coppering to the inner corners of my eyes, blending it up through Blackout. I also applied it under my eyes to create a tired and sickly look.

Step 4: I then drew veins under my eyes using Bodyshop black eyeliner. Make sure your eyeliner isn't blunt! Or use a liquid for a more intense effect.

Next I back combed my hair and applied copious amounts of Talcum Powder to it! You want to look dead and hungry!

Dress: Cameo Rose at New Look (last year's)
Belt: Primark

I really like this look, and I think it went okay for saying I made it up on the spot! I definitely recommend the fangs by Love Bites, they fit really well and look realistic!

WantFeed: My Wish List

So any of you that read Hannah Maggs' Blog, or watch the Michalaks on YouTube (I can't get enough of them!) will know that Stefan Michalak (@Stefmichalak) has recently created his own website: WantFeed. The idea is that you see something you like and share it. You can see other people's wants, like them, comment, share etc. I admit when I went on to do my own feed, I ended up stealing ideas off other people!

So here is a beginners list of my guilty wants (I'll be adding a lot more!). I'll probably never own some of these items, and it is a selfish list, but it's okay to dream right?! This is what I would buy if I came into a nice bit of money!

I think the website is a great concept and the design is very modern classy. I like the smooth design of it all. However I have encountered a few bugs whilst trying to post my wants, the site seems to sometimes just crash or doesn't want to recognise the links. But obviously it is early days and I'm sure Stef will iron out any faults soon enough! I think it's a nice website to play around with anyway, and maybe if you have a birthday coming up, point your other half in the direction of your feed if they're a bit clueless! Hopefully you'll get something you want off your list!

You can find me at @xbeccabe on WantFeed :).

Happy Wanting!

Halloween Looks: Glamorous Vampire

Since Halloween is fast approaching, and my favourite thing about Halloween is being able to transform yourself into something else, I thought I'd post a couple of looks I was experimenting with! I'm not sure how many of these I'll post, as many as I have time for I guess! This look I tried was a vampire, however it wasn't really a scary vampire, hence the term "glamorous vampire"! Enjoy!

Step 1: Dare to bare! So I started by using Bodyshop's Seaweed Mattifying Day Cream as this stops my face from going oily. I then used Revlon PhotoReady Perfecting Primer as a base to keep the makeup in  place.

Step 2: I then applied MAC's Pro Longwear Concealer (which is very pale on me at the moment) to cover up any blemishes. I then mixed Revlon Colorstay Foundation in my regular shade with a cheap White Cream Makeup that I picked up from Asda. I didn't expect much, hence why I mixed it with my foundation to stop it going streaky! The cream was quite cakey and hard to blend, but I think it worked okay.

Step 3: I then filled in my eyebrows with Benefit's Browzings

Step 4: For my eye makeup I wanted a dramatic burgundy colour. So I used a flat shader brush to apply Coppering by MAC, I applied this all over the lid and blended it really far up using a dome brush. I also applied some underneath my lash line. I then patted Urban Decay's Last call all over the lid, which intensified the colour and gave it a shimmery finish. I then went in with Urban Decay's Blackout from Naked 2 and blended this into my crease and in  the outer half of my lower lash line. I also applied Urban Decay's Sellout into the corner of my eyes and along my brow bone.

Step 5: I then went in with Maybelline's Gel Liner in Black, and drew an exaggerated flick. If you struggle to draw a straight line, I'd recommend leaning your elbow on a surface to keep your hand steady. I also drew a flick angling down too, just for something different! I also used a gold liquid eyeliner that I got from Avon years ago to draw a couple more flicks with, but you could use any glitter eyeliner you had lying around! I also lined my lash line with a Bodyshop black eyeliner.

Step 6: I went over my lashes quickly with Maybelline's The Falsies and then applied Eylure eyelashes in No.140 and stuck them on using DUO glue (which I reviewed here).

Step 7: I used Avon Bronzer mixed in with a touch of Blackout on the hollows of my cheeks and a very small amount on my forehead and down the sides of my nose.

Step 8: I then used MAC's Dark Side on my lips and used Miss Sporty Extreme Black in the centre of my lips to create an ombre effect.

Step 9: I then messed up my hair and popped in some Love Bites fangs (they're a bit tricky so please read the instructions in order to get the perfect fit!)

Dress: Cameo Rose and New Look (last year's)
Belt: Primark

Hope you enjoyed the tutorial! I really liked this look, especially if you don't want to be too scary. Although I must say it's very difficult to smile in fangs!! I've linked most of the products too if you want any.

What are you dressing up as this halloween?

Autumn Inspired Makeup Look

Hello Lovelies! Autumn is one of my favourite times of the year, purely because of the clothes and makeup you can wear! I love cat eye flicks, bold lips and knitwear, and that's what this season is all about! If you want to find out how I got this look, scroll down :).

The outfit:
Hat: New Look
Jacket: New Look
Dress: New Look
Necklace: Tiffany

As you can see this is mainly a "New Look" look! I used to work there and with the discount most of my clothes are from there! Unfortunately these are all from last year as I'm currently on a spending ban after America so I'm being good and recycling! However if you want any of these items they usually have similar things each year.

Makeup:
Face:
Clinique Even Better Makeup Foundation
Revlon Colourstay Concealer
Maybelline New York Dream Powder
Revlon Blusher in Marvellous
Benefit Hoola Bronzer

Eyes:
Benefit Browzings
Urban Decay Naked Palettes 2&3
Urban Decay Eyeshadow in Sellout
Maybelline Gel Eyeliner in Black
Maybelline The Falsies Mascara

Lips:
MAC Dark Side

I started by applying Clinique's foundation with my fingers (I can't get on with brushes!) I then applied Revlon's Concealer just under my eyes and around my nose. I set the base with the Maybelline powder. I then contoured using Hoola and applied Marvellous to my cheeks. I then filled out my eyebrows using Browzings (be careful with this one!) To do my eyes I patted Strange from Naked 3 all over my lids and blended Nooner onto my outer half. I then blended Blackout into the crease to make the look more intense. I also used Sellout on the inner corner of my eyes and on the top of my cheekbones to make them pop. I then lined the top of my lash line with Maybelline's Gel Liner and created a flick. I used The Falsies on my lashes but if you wanted to make the look more dramatic you could use fake eyelashes. I used MAC's Dark Side on my lips which I absolutely love! It took me so long to find a dark red that actually suits my skin tone!

I tried to keep this tutorial short hope you enjoyed!

Hello October: What I Love About Autumn

Photo taken on a trip to Berlin in 2012

How is it autumn already?! It doesn't seem two minutes since spring! I do love autumn, it's cold but not too cold, we still get some light in the mornings and evenings, but it's dark early enough to get that lovely cosy feeling and be able to snuggle up on the sofa. The colours are amazing and long autumn walks are one of my favourite things. I love autumn fashion too, dark red lips and black clothes, my favourite! We will be needing to break out the scarfs, hats and boots soon too, yay! I love a good woolly hat. Here are some snaps showing my favourite things about autumn.

I took this photo during a trip to Berlin in 2012, the city had the most stunning autumn colours! I love the crunch of the leaves and the colours that autumn brings so much.

Autumn walks!

Th fair of course! This was taken 4 years ago, wow!

Reading a good book/magazine with a cuppa!

Dark lips, a wooly hat and a hot drink, perfect!

Candles, candles, candles!! This on is Golden Sands by Yankee Candle, not very autumnal but it was on sale and smells amazing!

Halloween!!! I've always been a massive halloween lover, I love scaring myself silly with horror films and experimenting with different costumes! These were the looks I went for last year. You can read a quick how to for the looks here.

What's your favourite thing about autumn?
