KIEHL'S Ultra Light Daily UV Defense SPF 50 Review

I really wanted to purchase a good high factor face cream, as I have heard all these scary stories about sun causing accelerated ageing, and I do believe them so I wanted to get into the habit of wearing a protection barrier every day. I recently had a trip to Selfridges in Manchester and purchased this product which I had planned to buy for America, as there is nothing worse than a burnt face! But I do intend to start wearing this on a daily basis under my makeup.

The claim:

"Our daily, ultra light formula intensely moisturizes the skin and utilizes a high level of sun filters Mexoryl SX and Mexoryl Xl to provide the skin with effective UVA and UVB broad-spectrum sunscreen protection. This moisturizing, oil-free lotion helps protect against the appearance of dark sports and wrinkles. Safe for sensitive skin."

I do believe this product does what it says on the tin. You could use this without even using a moisturiser, and it does feel incredibly light, not like you are wearing suncream on your face at all. Suncream tends to block up all my pores and breaks me out, but this product doesn't do that at all. It doesn't smell of anything either which is a bonus!

I can't really judge the product in terms of sun defence, as I haven't tested it in sunny weather yet, but I will be soon and I doubt it will disappoint being SPF 50.

This product is not cheap, however I am a massive believe in prevention when it comes to wrinkles, rather than tackling them after they have developed, and I do believe this product may help my skin in the long-term. It is available here at Khiels.

NB: This post was scheduled before I went to America. I will currently be sunning it up and won't be back until mid September, so I apologise for any late replies to comments etc! I will get back to you when I can! x

The Body Shop Vitamin E Overnight Serum-in-Oil review

I have been wanting to try a serum for a while now, but I didn't want to go for one that was too pricey incase I didn't like the feel of them etc. I got the oppertunity to buy this Body Shop Vitamin E Overnight Serum-in-Oil on offer a few months ago (read the haul in this post).

To be honest I wasn't expecting that much from this product, but I was pleasantly surprised. You squeeze a couple of drops onto your palms and rub them together a couple of times to warm the serum up. You then just rub it into your face before applying your moisturiser. I found that this left my skin feeling really nourished, and even though my skin is oily I still tend to get try patches and this product seemed to cure them overnight. I really feel like its sinking into my skin after I apply it, and I am one of those people that likes to apply a rich moisturiser before bed so that I wake up with lovely soft skin, and this product really helps me achieve that.

If your skin is feeling a little dry or unloved I would definitely recommend this product. For me it feels like I've added a little touch of luxury to my skincare routine. It has really made me want to try other serums too.

You can buy this product from The Body Shop here. It is extremely well priced when comparing to other serums on the market and is great if like me you want to try something a little cheaper that still does a great job.

Have you tried The Body Shop Vitamin E Serum? I would love to know what you thought!

Maybelline Eye Studio Gel Liner Review

I'v had the Maybelline Eye Studio Gel Liner for a while now (you can probably tell by the photos!) but I love it. I bought it in black and use it when I want to create a feminine flick to make my look a bit more dramatic.

The claim:

"Maybelline Eye Studio Gel Liner Black: Intense colour and lasting wear in an easy to apply gel. Get a natural or dramatic look - you choose!"

I don't use the brush that comes with it as i found it a bit too large for creating a delicate flick. Instead i use a small one that I got with my Chanel liquid eyeliner, but I could do with buying one really.

The thing I like most about this gel eyeliner is that it goes on matte. Many liquid eyeliners go on shiny and tend to crease as they dry which I hate. This one doesn't do that at all. It lasts all day, the only issue I have with it is that if I draw it all the way to the corner of my eyes it tends to smudge there. However it doesn't do it anywhere else, and this tends to happen with most eyeliners I have tried. If anyone has one that doesn't smudge, feel free to recommend it to me!

This product is reasonably priced at £7.99, and I would say it is true to its claim. It's available here at Superdrug.

What's your favourite liquid/gel eyeliner? Have you tried this one?
