I was recently contacted by Vita Liberata to try a product from their new NKD SKN Luxe Tanning collection. Of course I said yes, fake tanning is a key part of my beauty regime during the winter months.
I received the NKD SKN Tinted Tan Mouse in medium to try. I was happy with this as I usually use a mouse so I knew how to apply it! First impression were good, the bottle and packaging just look so cool! You can see the effort they put into the packaging.
The claim:
"Glides like velvet over the skin, giving a gorgeous bronze tan that is odourless and fades without patching. Natural extracts will give you super soft skin for a totally flawless finish. Lasts up to 7 days."
When reading the instructions they weren't clear whether you were meant to apply the product and just go straight out, or whether you are meant to apply it the night before and wash it off. I didn't want any streaky disasters so I opted for the safer option and applied it the night before! I'm glad I did this as it looked a bit too much by the time it had developed!
When I washed the tan off a bit more than I would have liked washed off and I wasn't much darker. I think I could have done with the dark toned one as I am olive skinned. However the product did not have much of an odour, especially when compared to my all time favourite St Moriz.
It is slightly more red in tone than my usual St Moriz, which has more of a green tone. I did really like this undertone actually as it appeared more natural. I've had the tan on for a few days now and I haven't had any patchiness appear as it starts to wash off (I hate that!) It also didn't clog up my pores or cause any outbreaks.
Overall I am very happy with the product and would purchase again (although I would go for the dark tone!) The only thing that puts me off about NKD SKN is that it is quite pricey compared with St Moriz which you do get more of and is only about £2.99! However it is much cheaper than other competitive brands such as St. Tropez and it's around about the same price as Fake Bake, so I think this product is worth a try!
They have been nice enough to give you guys 45% off NKD SKN too! Just use the promo code BECCA45 (expires on the 19th of November). You can view the NKD SKN collection here for yourself.
What's your favourite tanning product? Besides the sun!
What a great post! :)

DeleteI've never been able to find a self tan that doesn't make me go orange and streaky - this one sounds amazing and I cannot actually believe how reasonably priced it is!! Winters just ended here in South Africa and I am seriously considering ordering this from the internet now to help my ghostly legs get some color back in them ;)
